Very good book. But... the author proposes an analisys of the year 403 BCE in order to understand why did the athenians proposed an amnisty between the oligarchs and the democrats after the Thirty Tyrants. This actually happens only in the last 20 pages. All the previous chapters deal with many subjects related to traditions of forgetting, sense of union and unity. Very good chapters, but from Homer to Aristotle, skipping the year in question, she makes interesting notes and keep the reader waiting for the prime subject.

If the tittles of the chapters gave hints on its subjects, instead of the literary tittles presented, it would be easier to choose what to read (if you have a specific pourpose in reading a book about the amnesty of 403 BCE).

Even so, what is written is well written.
